Nadeem lives in Bethlehem, where he is a respected community leader. Sadly, this famous ancient town is a major flashpoint in the Middle East conflict, a place where people are often persecuted for what they believe.

Isn't it strange to consider that people today can be harassed for reading or talking about Jesus in the very town where He was born? But this has not stopped Nadeem.

Several years ago, he started watching our television programs in Bethlehem and studying our materials on the internet. He was so engaged by what he was hearing that he just had to know more. When he heard about our Amazing Facts Center of Evangelism (AFCOE) in California, he felt greatly impressed to come. He bought an airline ticket to America, and he showed up unannounced and unregistered at our California offices just in time for our one-week AFCOE to Go training class!

Of course, we let him in — how could we turn him away?

We’re thrilled to tell you that when Nadeem left, he was a Sabbath-keeping believer in Jesus Christ and ready to go win his family, friends, and countrymen to the Lord. And with his AFCOE training, he has the tools to be an effective soul-winner.

But one of Pastor Doug’s greatest concerns is that other believers around the globe have virtually no Bible training to help ground them in truth and reach others. Our broadcasts, literature, and websites reach them with truth — but once they have responded to the gospel and want to grow in their faith, there is often no nearby church or Bible school they can attend.
