An Eternal, Soul-Winning Impact
Do you ever wonder if our website is truly winning souls for the Lord?
Andrew was born in Hong Kong to a mother and father who were addicted to gambling. After they divorced, Andrew was bounced around among relatives and eventually sent to live with family in the United States for schooling. Andrew excelled in school and was driven to succeed financially until he ultimately owned his own prosperous business in Shanghai, China. Andrew says, “Around the time of my 39th birthday, the Holy Spirit abruptly impressed me and began to show me the truth. On the surface, I appeared to be a successful entrepreneur, but deep inside I felt empty.”
That’s when Andrew began to search the internet for God, where he encountered the Amazing Facts website. There he began to watch our TV videos. Of course, Christian television is not allowed in China — but tens of thousands in that communist country are watching our TV programs on the internet. Andrew also began to explore our Bible lessons.
Being abandoned by his family, Andrew admits he had trouble trusting anyone. He continues, “Interestingly enough, the first lesson in the Amazing Facts online Bible School is entitled, ‘Is There Anything Left You Can Trust?’ ”After completing the lesson, he explains, “For the first time in my life, I kneeled in the presence of God, repented of my sins, and surrendered my life to Him. Now here’s the most amazing fact in this story: While thousands of Americans were flying to China for the recent Olympics, Andrew got on a plane and flew all the way from Shanghai, China, to California to be baptized at Sacramento Central! That’s commitment! Andrew is now rejoicing in the Lord and sharing his new faith back in China. Praise the Lord!
