How do I get the adobe flash player?
To get the player just Click here.
When IÂ click on the watch or listen link nothing happens
This will often happen when you have a pop-up blocker running on your computer. Make Amazing Facts an approved website within your pop-up blocking software (you'll need to refer to the instructions for your particular blocker to find out how to do this).
This will also happen if you are running an old version of Internet Explorer. If you're using Internet Explorer please be sure that it is version 6.0 or above. You can find out the version by clicking 'Help' in the toolbar and then clicking 'About Internet Explorer' as shown in the screenshot below:

If you are using an old version of Internet Explorer you'll need to upgrade. You can find upgrades here:Âhttp://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx

When IÂ play the video it buffers or stops and starts frequently
This frequently happens if you are attempting to play the media while on a dial-up connection. If you're on dial-up we suggest downloading and listening to the audio file instead of trying to watch the video. Your connection speed with dial-up won't facilitate viewing videos online.
Your internet connection will need to have a download speed of 512 kbps or greater ... basic DSL will many times fall below that. To test your download speed for free click the link below:
Test my download speed
If your download speed is sufficient and you're still experiencing this try pressing pause on the video after it starts playing to allow the video to load. The time it takes for the video to load will vary depending upon your actual connection speed. You don't have to load the whole thing before attempting to play it again. Once a fair amount has been loaded you should be able to play the video without buffering. See the screenshot below:

How do I turn captioning on and off?
Captions are off by default. To turn them on and off just click the 'cc' button in the lower right hand corner of the screen as shown below:

Â
How do I play MP4 files after I've downloaded them to my computer?
You'll need a player installed on your computer that plays MP4 files. There are many but two that are particularly good (and free) are the following:
These programs are available for both Mac and Windows operating systems.
Â
How do I make the video fullscreen?
For flash videos

For windows media player

Â
When I try to play a video the player comes up blank
Example:

This happens mostly while using the Internet Explorer browser. This is a known issue that we're seeking resolution for. In the meantime a work around is to refresh the page by clicking 'View' in the menu and then 'Refresh'.
If that doesn't work then you'll need to delete your temporary internet files. To do this in Internet Explorer click 'Tools' in the menu bar and then 'Internet Options'. The following dialog box will come up:Â

Click the delete button. Another dialog box will come up as shown below:

Click the 'delete files' button. This will remove your temporary internet files. This is good to do periodically anyway as these files can pile up and slow down your computer. After doing this refresh your browser again and then try to play the file.
