From Pastor Doug
| | “And there shall be … earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” —Matthew 24:7, 8 The world has been truly stunned by the apocalyptic images that are flooding in from this massive earthquake, which violently shook the earth’s crust just beneath Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital.
It has been heartbreaking to see desperate quake survivors working feverishly, using sledgehammers and their bare hands, to free victims trapped beneath the concrete rubble and pleading for help.
The devastation is compounded with confused despair, as dazed victims wander the streets realizing their meager hospitals, government buildings, and emergency services are also paralyzed. Clean water, electric power, and telephone service are virtually nonexistent.
Kindness in the Midst of Catastrophe
It will still be some time before the full scope of this disaster and loss of life is fully assessed. Thousands have died.
Nevertheless, it has also been heartwarming to see the international outpouring of charity, sacrifice, and humanitarian aid. And now it is especially important for Christians to offer their service, give sacrificially, and to pray.
Why?
Some have already asked the question, Did God send this cataclysm as a divine punishment upon the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere?
Just a day following the disaster, Pat Robertson said on CBN that the nation of Haiti was devastated because its people “made a pact with the devil.”
We need to be very careful not to rush to judgment at times like this. Commenting on a local disaster back in His own day, Jesus explained, “Those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:4, 5).
The devil would like to snuff out every human life and, according to the law, that’s what we deserve. It’s only by the intervening grace of God that any of us are alive.
So what can we learn from this tragedy?
For one thing, as we near the end, powerful quakes like this one will strike with increasing frequency and intensity. The death of Jesus was itself marked by a significant earthquake, as was His resurrection (Matthew 27:54; 28:2). The Scriptures also tell us that the second coming of Christ will be accompanied by the largest earthquake in history (Revelation 16:17, 18). Only the redeemed will survive this seismic event!
There is something else we have seen from the earthquake in Haiti. The whole economy and political freedom of an entire country can be instantly altered when a massive earthquake reduces a major city to rubble. How quickly global prophetic events might activate if an earthquake of this magnitude — or bigger — should strike New York City, San Francisco, or Los Angeles.
It is only the patient mercy of God that has preserved the United States from “the big one” so far.
Amazing Facts Can Broadcast Hope
We can be sure that the Lord can bring positive blessings even from a devastating disaster like this one. “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
It’s a fact that people are more open to the gospel following a disaster.
Amazing Facts is in the business of saving souls eternally. As people everywhere behold these increasing natural disasters, their hearts become sober; they long for peace and security. Remember, it was following a powerful earthquake that the jailer asked Paul and Silas, “What must I do to be saved?” (Acts 16:30). Friend, in just a few terrifying moments the probation of thousands was forever closed for the victims in Haiti. Their eternal destinies are sealed. But for the living, there is still hope (Ecclesiastes 9:4).
That’s why it is so important for us to use these twilight moments of grace to broadcast the gospel.
As heartbreaking as this earthquake is, it offers us a tremendous opportunity. The people in Haiti will be hungering for hope, a hope that can only come from the Word of God. Together, we can help them find Jesus.
Amazing Facts is not set up to send bandages or bread to countries in crisis. There are many other fine charities that specialize in these areas, and I hope you will support them.
But there is something that this ministry can do that will make an eternal difference in the lives of these poor people. We can send them Christ.
How can you help right now?
Obviously, the people of Haiti are still reeling from the effects of this tragedy, and will be for months. But as they begin to piece their lives back together, we want to be sure to place the truth within their reach when they are ready.
One of the official languages in Haiti is French. Amazing Facts has already recorded two evangelistic series in French, and we also have a complete set of evangelistic lessons, the Storacles of Prophecy, translated into French and prepared to advance the Word of God in that nation.
The average annual income in Haiti before the earthquake was only $300. These dear people have no money. That’s why we would like to send these materials to Haiti for free and also grant the pastors and church members there permission to freely copy the DVDs and reprint the French lessons.
In addition, with your help, we can broadcast the gospel via satellite to Haiti and to the millions of others that live in the surrounding Caribbean nations. I have seen in these countries where one person in a poor community will have a satellite dish and a small TV. In the cool evening, all the neighbors will gather in the streets to watch the programs together.
When you give today, you will help us broadcast many more messages of hope and understanding to countless souls in need of it more than ever before. Please Help Us Offer Hope
And at times like this, I know that the work of Amazing Facts is more important than ever before. This sudden natural disaster is a sober reminder of just how quickly the end can begin. Jesus foretold that the horrific scenes the world has witnessed following the massive earthquake in Haiti will only increase as we near the end of time. Our whole planet is convulsing and crumbling under its burden of sin. “We know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now” (Romans 8:22). So whether you can give $15, $25, $50, or $100 or more to support this evangelism ministry, God can use it to bring peace and purpose to His suffering children in Haiti and around the world. I’m asking that you take a moment to pray. Ask Jesus what He would have you do regarding a gift to support His message this month. Your friend in Christ, Pastor Doug Batchelor | Posted on January 14, 2010 14:38 by Amazing Facts Editor

Thanks for your biblical insights and God centered compassion for those suffering in Haiti. I will donate what little I have to first help with physical food and water to one of the aid organizations and then to Amazing Facts to supply the spiritual food and living waters of Christ.

Happy Sabbath to all amazingfacts team! We surely appreciate your hearty programs. My family is always listening amazingfacts through HCBN (He's Coming Broadcasting NetWork). We are blessed. Praying for the outpouring of the Holy Spirity to each one who is sincerely waiting for our Lord and Saviour to come.
GILBERT ALLEN GARCIA Friday, January 15, 2010 7:19 AM
It breaks my heart to see so much devastation in Haiti. I work at a produce cooling plant and we had a moment of silence for the nation as a whole but what we really need is a moment of prayer so God can reach those in need of Him. I don't make a lot of money there but my contribution is on the way and I would encourage the rest of my Christian brothers who watch this program to do the same, whatever you can give. God bless you all.
anthony Friday, January 15, 2010 8:03 AM
many of you out there might be thinking oh well it's not my problem, but don't get to comfortable in that thought, we could very well be in the same situation and i know myself and others would expect the same help available.. so search your heart and try to help as in within your means.. myself included... anthony g.

I appreciate the timely message and appropriate thoughts from Pastor Doug, especially his comments on not passing judgement as to why such a tragedy has happened to this nation. It my my hope and prayer that the Haitian people will, by God's grace and through the support giving from around the world be able to rebuild their lives and nation.
Fritz Clavin Friday, January 15, 2010 2:40 PM
Hi Doug. You are so right in your statement concerning the earthquake in Haiti. I love the way you used the scriptures to prove your point. At first I thought what Pat Robertson said made sense but now I know that he should have said it differently using the Bible verse you mentioned, (Luke 13:4, 5). It seems that he has angered many people. The days when christians will be punished for preaching the Lords message are closer upon us. People don't want to hear about God's judgement.
Marteal Friday, January 15, 2010 4:12 PM
Amen! We must always be ready to transform this tragedy into a victory for Christ. Thank you, Amazing Facts, for remembering that "all things work together for good for those who love the Lord, and are called according to His purpose." What a wonderful opportunity to reach people with the Gospel!
Cynthia Merriweather Friday, January 15, 2010 4:50 PM
Pastor Doug My pray's go out to all, in Haiti, with all that great loss, I know that we must be ready at all time, for we know not the hour when the Lord comes. I send money just as soon as I able.
Parline Pascal Friday, January 15, 2010 6:19 PM
Thank You so much for showing compassion and support to my country and my people. Thank You shedding light where some well-known speakers have made comments have ignorance. May God Bless Richly You.

This is extremely devastating. I am glad to know that your ministry shed light on this terrible tragedy. Although in the midst of tragedy, this article still gives hope because of it's Biblical prospective. God bless haiti and your ministry for the mission you are trying to achieve. jam

I was looking forward to Pastor Doug's comments on this situation. reason is , I know you're always timely appropriate and profoundly scriptural. I am so mindful of what you have to say. Please keep on allowing God to use you in the way he does.

We must do our part as Christians! The world must know of Jesus Christ he only true source of hope. These poor people have lost so much, we must pray so that the Lord can use each and every one of us to help them know Jesus! The is VERY SHORT! Today is the day...

We still have an opportunity to share the truth to others that still in darkness. May God be with us all.

Just as the people of Haiti have needs during this upheaval, we as onlookers do to. Thank you for your words of wisdom, outreach, and truth, through God. They do help us, who care so deeply, to deal with this. Your Freind In Christ.

We all should pray for the whole world in these last days, pray for people that have a listening heart to Gods messages. There so many people who don't want to know they don't want to believe it is amazing with in it's self. Truly man want's to do what he want's, and block the truth out. So sad. May God our lord come quickly and i for one knows it will be over for me, weather i make it or i don't. God protect you and keep you safe. Wayne.
Sam Bob Friday, January 15, 2010 9:29 PM
Just praying that may the Lord awaken us and realize the times that we are living in. Like the children of Israel may He help us not to forget about this event after a few days and continue on with our sinful lives, but rather to soften our hearts so that we can surrender fully our lives onto Him. We are not any better than our brothers and sisters who have slept, but it's a great opportunity given us. " Lord makes us be ready for your coming to take us home, Amen."
Peet Vermaak Saturday, January 16, 2010 3:30 AM
What has happened is so sad but how quickly we forget the event that changed the lives of thousands forever.May God impress apon our hearts the serious times we live in and that it would inspire us to a better relationship with our Heavenly Father day by day and also get us into action to help to save others that need the Lord.
Atul Mishra Saturday, January 16, 2010 3:41 AM
God bless you Pastor Doug this article was much needed after the statement of Pat Robertson. I feel his statement can discourage many to support Haiti victim. We must contribute to them. My prayers are always for the victims. India has also supported by $5 million to Haiti. We can not fill the losses but soon by the Grace of the God their life will be on the track. However I am not having any credit card right now but very soon I will also be able to donate AF ministry with in 2-3 months. Your Ministry is really blessing to me.
Mark Bishop Saturday, January 16, 2010 4:54 AM
What a poignant and Holy Spirit inspired message for us all to read twice, then pass it along to a friend. While our hearts reach out to help those in ravaged torn Haiti, millions of Haitians will be looking for the truth; looking for the true God and looking for Jesus. Praise God Amazing Facts has already stepped forward to prepare materials to bring not only hope to Haiti, but through scripture show them the way of eternal life-through their loving Savior Jesus. Thank you Pastor Doug for your inspirational message and lifeline for these last days. Let us all put our trust in Jesus, always. Sincerely, Mark Bishop

It is truly a great disaster what happened in Haiti. I pray for the people that they will recover and turn to God in their time of grief and need. It is surprising to note also that a CNN reporter stated that Haiti is 100% voodoo. It seems that they suffer a great deal not just from this earthquake but disasters of past and political problems, let us pray and hope that as these calamities fall on the earth our faith will increase as we await the second coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. God bless
Jeanette Sunday, January 17, 2010 3:27 AM
I found your article to be very balanced. You did not dispute that such disasters can come upon nations who turn their backs on God and you did not jump to confirm that this was the case in Haiti. We simply do not know. What is a fact is that it was allowed to happen and what ought to be any Christians first response is not to judge or condemn of that I am sure, it is to support and love those that have been devastated guilty or not of any sin. I personally found Mr. Robertson's comment distasteful. However, having said that it is true that the country needs not just physical support but spiritual and i wholeheartedly give thanks and support the approach being taken by your ministry.
Marie C. Bassill Sunday, January 17, 2010 8:51 AM
Dear Pastor Batchelor and Associates, Thank you for this response filled with Spirit and intelligence. The world needs an appropriate reply for this disaster. I will give and forward this article to others as well. May God continue to bless you, your loved ones, and this wonderful outreach/ministry. Your Sister In Christ, Marie
Walter Arias Sunday, January 17, 2010 7:27 PM
Thank you, Pastor Batchelor for this ministry that help us to realize the truth about this events that are happening as they were recorded in the bible. I hope many people can be reach with this massage, thank you again and may God bless us all.
Sandy Sunday, January 17, 2010 7:40 PM
My heart is heavy wishing I could be there to hold a hand, touch a face but I know through your ministry and our prayers Hope will be restored to those who remain, we must believe nothing less. Thank you Amazing Facts.
mytymichelle Sunday, January 17, 2010 7:56 PM
We are blessed to have you in the ministry. The earthquake victims in Haiti are always included in our prayers.
Jofre Furtado Monday, January 18, 2010 6:47 AM
I agree with the fact that we should not judge others . Matthew 7:2 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. Fact is, the scriptures truly tell us that we are ALL unworthy and are ALL sinners. When we break one Commandment of God, we break them all. All sin is deserving of death (regardless of how big or small it is). I think it is cruel to judge others and accuse them all as a group to be of Satan as though it were a witch hunt. We are all the children of God. Christ Jesus died for ALL of us and took on ALL of our sins. God will use this to open doors to Him- I'm sure of it. I thank Amazing Facts and Pastor Doug for the tools they provide for worlwide Gospel preaching. Also, God bless all of you here and God bless those is Haiti both suffering and helping.
Barbara Hanson Monday, January 18, 2010 11:24 AM
Pastor Doug You have helped to clear up a big question that I had in my heart. The Haitian people are no more sinners than we are. They need to see Gods love right now and he uses his people to do it. Also, we should not think so highly of ourselves because the biggest sin is to think that we are better than others and they deserve punishment . That is not the Gospel the Gospel says that ALL OF US FALL SHORT AND NEED JESUS. Thank you for being my Pastor on Saturday mornings. You are obviously in love with Gods word.
Mike Biyela Monday, January 18, 2010 11:41 AM
Thank you Doug for what I can only call 'Holy Spirit inspired comments and appeal' for our human race in Haiti. Ours is not to judge but to always pray for our salvation and that of others.
Allison Hall Monday, January 18, 2010 12:02 PM
Thanks for your wonderful message about the earthquake Haiti. It is unfortunate that many of us, including christians, seem to think that the people in Haiti are being punished by God. All of us are sinners. The earthquake is a an unfortunate situation that occured to some unfortunate people. Jesus loves us all. He only hates sin.
selvie reddy Tuesday, January 19, 2010 4:39 AM
thanks pastor for the correlation to the biblical scriptures.god be with the victims and their families
Michele Tuesday, January 19, 2010 7:48 AM
May heart aches to see the distruciton and lost of life and I too found Mr. Robertson's comment very distasteful, we all have fallen short and we are all sinners. In all of this God is still mercifull and I prayer this will increase our faith and we will reach out to those in Haiti, those around us who are loosing faith in god and those who have not yet turned their lives over to him. We can surely see that time is short JESUS is soon to come. May God continue to bless you Pastor Doug.
mildred ann mendoza Tuesday, January 19, 2010 2:19 PM
my heart was pierced by the tragic earthquake in Haiti.i am happy to know that God is really coming soon, and the signs of the times are telling that it is draweth nigh...i can't help but cry for those who were suffering from the result of the earthquake.yeah, it's true the probation of some has been closed, blessed are those who lived for Jesus...it is a great lesson for us who are living that we still have hope, a chance to repent and live for Jesus...i don't know what sort of help i can give them, but PRAYER... thank you so much pastor Doug for having this kind of program that we can be able to share God's love to others.may God continue to bless you and this program for the furtherance of His work!
Chris Malpica Tuesday, January 19, 2010 6:10 PM
Second great commandment - "love to one another" - this is the time like many other to put into practice this task given by our father in heaven.
Steve & Betty Tuesday, January 19, 2010 6:21 PM
Thanks Doug & Team for your wonderful ministry. We appreciate it so much as we are some distance from the nearest church. And I'm sure there are many people all over the world who feel the same, so Haiti will be no different I'm sure. They too can and will be greatly comforted knowing God still loves them and has a far better life prepared for them. We will send money by mail. Thanks again and God bless you all!!!
Peter Mulenga Tuesday, January 19, 2010 6:28 PM
Thanks pastor, this has clearly opened up my blind eyes as well... may GOD be the I AM to them people in need! it shall be done like wise!
Ralph Rancy Tuesday, January 19, 2010 6:35 PM
I would like to thank Pastor Batchelor for his encouraging words. I am orginally from Haiti, and I went to spend some days in Port-au-Prince for vacation - on January 12th. The earthquake happened only 1 and a half hour after I arrived at my father's, when I was just settling in. I cannot describe the fear it brought in me, my father and my uncle. Praise be to God through His Son Jesus-Christ, we are all alive. We were able to return to Canada with the Canadian Army. It is a lack of consideration to say that Haiti has been hit because it made a pact with the devil. The Lord knows how many Christians are serving the Lord from the bottom of their hearts. It is true that there are too many people, still today, serving the evil spirits, but Jesus is still upheld every day by thousands and thousands of Christian. While over there, every night, me and the people in my neighbourhood were all in the street, under the stars, and we were all together, singing christians songs, citing Psalms, and praying, sometimes until midnight. It was a wonderful experience! In the middle of the distress, God was still being glorified. I'm sure this has touched many in our neibourhood who had not yet accepted Christ as their Savior. Please pray for Haiti, and do whatever you can to support the Haitian people there with your donations. Yours in Christ.
laura green Tuesday, January 19, 2010 7:05 PM
When we visit an elderly person we are visiting JESUS.When we give money to the homeless man or woman on the side of the road we are giving to JESUS.When we help the people of Haiti we are really helping JESUS. Thank you amazing facts for your commitment to spread the gospel.
Danny Swanton Tuesday, January 19, 2010 7:58 PM
isn't it amazing that even the people that don't know and understand God they still pray to him and ask for help/forgiveness in times of need. I pray for all the haitian people and all over the world that through Jesus our Christ and Saviour they shall come to understand our world and that there is something more special awaiting us at the end.
Edward Graves Tuesday, January 19, 2010 9:07 PM
My sympathy to the people of Haiti. God promised a blessing to all who died in the Lord as a result of this earthquake. They rest from their pain. (read Revelation 14:13). Their sleep is sweet. There is no war, no more earthquakes, floods, starvation, or hunger that will trouble them. Their next moment of consciousness will be the resurrection morning; the glorious day when Jesus returns as King of kings and Lord of lords to gather his loved ones home.r
Rebekah Tuesday, January 19, 2010 9:40 PM
Pastor Doug, the Lord has bless you to see not only with your eyes, but with your heart, the love of Christ is in your heart, your hunger for souls is very visable.MAY A DOUBLEBLESSING IN THE NAME OF JESUS MEET THE NEED FOR THIS MISSION THE GREAT 'I AM' HAS LAID HEAVY IN YOUR HEART.THE LORD HAS GIVEN US A MESSAGE TO TEACH { Matthew 28:19-20} May the Lord add a blessing to his word. God Bless
Bud Bliss Tuesday, January 19, 2010 9:47 PM
I am going thru some tough times and can only pray for the people of Haiti. I am also praying for our country (USA) it's leadership, and for Isreal. I read and study the bible nearly every day and attend BSF where I volunteer. God has blesssed me and through his son, Jesus Christ, has adopted me into his family, as all believers in Jesus Christ have been. So, many of the Haitians are Christian, and are our brothers and siisters in Christ. So, If you can't donate money, donate your time in prayer for these people. Thanks for reading this, and thank you Pastor Doug for making this site available. May God Bless us all. Bud

"What you do unto the least of these my breathren, you do unto Me." The people of Haiti are in my prayers. God loves us all and doesn't want any to perish. The signs are everywhere that Jesus IS coming soon to end this controversy between good and evil and to take us to our eternal home. Thank you, the Amazing Facts team, for spreading the good news of the Gospel, and sharing the hope and comfort that our Loving heavenly Father promises us! I have been laid-off from my job but I will donate as much as I can. We must LOVE one another- for God is LOVE!

Thanks for the wonderful message. I has given me & my family the courage to face life difficulties, as God can keep His children safe......seen & read from Ralph Rancy"s witness. We r here in Alkhobar, Saudiarabia & we watch ur inspiring sermons on TV as we do not have the acess to go to church since its prohibited in this country and every day I wait for the Lord to open a church here in Alkhobar where we can worship freely.

I am so happy that we have Jesus to be our Rock in the midst of the storm and I know that He is with the people in Haiti and He is calling us to do what we can do to ease their pain and help them to learn of His love for them
Charles F Kirk, Jr. Wednesday, January 20, 2010 6:38 AM
I have just heard that a second earthquake has hit about 32 miles from the Capitol with a 6.1 on the Ricter Scale. Our little church here in Goldsboro, NC will be praying for all the victims of both catostrofic events. Our hearts and prayers are with everyone that has withstood this drastic event, and we pray that God will send a blessing to each and every person that was effected so they can get their lives back together. May God continue to bless the people of Haiti.
Nancy Green Wednesday, January 20, 2010 6:40 AM
I wanted to put my arms around the woman that was crying in the street, the man watching his brother dieing, the little child crying not knowing where to turn for help. I cried when i saw it all on TV. The only thing I can do is to pray that they will feel the loving arms of Christ around them in their time of trouble. Our church made a special time to pray for everone in Haiti this last Sabbath. I felt that God did answer our prayers. I will continue to pray for them and that the Word will be taken to them to give them comfort. Thank you so much for your ministry. I know it has changed my life. Yours in Service Nancy
Jackie Trim Wednesday, January 20, 2010 6:44 AM
It is so amazing how frail life is. In just a single moment so many lives were lost. Pastor Doug, God has used you and will continue to use you in more way than you can imagine. I really does break my heart and I am brought to tears just thinking what would I do in such a situation. I live on the island of St. Lucia and we do have tremors and the first time I felt it, it was not a nice experience, far less to experience what Haiti experienced. I can only say, LORD HAVE MERCY ON ME. We are doing our part on this end to send help to Haiti. As you rightly said, people are more open to receiving Jesus and the gospel after a disaster. They are looking for hope, a way out, comfort; which can only be found in Jesus. Your comments are very appropriate. God bless you as we work together to give them hope.
stan talley Wednesday, January 20, 2010 7:11 AM
I have desired to do something toward relieving the burden in Haiti. Pastor Doug, you are providing a most needed resource to those quake survivors who desperately need to be fed and watered spiritually. Here is a donation to assist in your efforts.
Dave McCracken Wednesday, January 20, 2010 7:13 AM
The remnant church at work. Praise God.
Jay gignac Wednesday, January 20, 2010 7:32 AM
I thank God that he gave me the resources to help i'll be sending money by mail
Carol Wednesday, January 20, 2010 7:55 AM I just want the people of Haiti to know that we are praying for them and contributing financially to their need. I also want them to know that God has not forgotten them. He did say these things would happen towards the end. I pray that we all will see this as a wake up call to get serious about serving God in spirit and in truth. Haitians are strong and will survive, especially if they invite God to come in their hearts. I especially feel it for the children. Thanks for the good work Doug. Carol
paula djane Wednesday, January 20, 2010 8:07 AM
God bless the people of Haiti, let the Holy Spirit work miraculously with those who survived. No fault finding can be allowed while we are workers for Christ. Stand up! Stand up for Jesus, He will give you all you need to conquer satan who is the destroyer of everything.
Wilma Garcia/Puerto Rico Wednesday, January 20, 2010 8:15 AM
We pray for our neighbors, brothers and sisters in this moment of proving faith. God bless and we thank the entities who had been moved around the world to help these children of God. Praise the Lord!! because His second coming is more near as we suspect!!. These events tells us that we have to rush ourselves and finish preaching His Word. Amen

At first I pushed the reality of this tragedy from my mind as it was overwhelming to imagine and I felt, once again, helpless to respond effectively. About 36 hours later, I awakened, unable to go to sleep. I got out of bed and bowed in prayer. Listening to the Holy Spirit, I let Him confront me about my responsibility. Quietly, biblically He led me to remember how Jesus addressed the needs of people and how I could too. Then He continued to address (as you had almost immediately) my long-term responsibility to be about My Father's business "kingdom building". Be deliberate, persistent, and plan, for when God's kingdom comes, these horrific events will be no more. That is God's desire; is it mine? How much? Thank you for addressing these very things immediately and guiding us to know how to apply the truth of God's Word today.

Dear Pastor Doug & Team! Thank you for allowing God to use you & your team for His wonderful purpose! Your ministry has been a personal blessing to me. I am disappointed with Pat Robertson's comment. At the end of the day I have to ask myself if he is serving the same God I worship? When death comes to us, we are accountable for one thing - which is, did we die in the blessed assurance & faith of Christ, or out of His will? Pat Robertson needs to ask himself this question on a daily basis instead of playing the role of a judge & passing judgment on his fellow human beings. There is only one Judge (God Jehovah!). God reigns admist Satan's cruel & sadastic workings. Satan brought horror, death & havoc to Haiti, but God is already bringing healing & restoration to the people! To the people of Haiti, be encouraged, stay the course, God is our hope & strength, a very present Help in our time of need. We love you, our brothers & sisters! Geetha Price

We are such a blessed people. Thanks to God for allowing light and hope to shine. And thanks to God for AmazingFacts and Pastor Batchalor. Grace, truth, and hope is what being in Christ really is. We are the light of the world and our job is to shine God's mercy and last message to a dying world. And it is true, we are all sinners and in need of salvation, daily. So that we might be a sweet smelling savior, message seasoned with God's love for todays hopless and dying in a sin darken world. Also, we must be careful not to sound like the pharases in the temple while the sinner bearly looked up to God! We all know who went home justified! So, humble and willing to share God's love with others must be our tall order for the last days! God help us to stay connected to him and to be meriful and ready to serve! Keep up the good work Amazingfacts.

I love these comments and the information given. My insight into the situation has truly grown and I thank all of you for such wonderful words. May we unite under Christ to lift these people up that they may come to know and love the Lord as we ourselves have come to do also. I pray that God move through their territories that they have every single opportunity to come close to Him who loves them so much. Even through desperate times His love for them is great, every single one of them. May their minds be wise and their hearts open to His great works.

Pastor, My parents got to Haiti about an hour and a half before the earthquake hit. They were watching television when my Mom felt it. By the Grace of God, they are safe now. They came back with the Canadian army. My niece was there also. After the earthquake, she said to her Mom: Mom, it was Jesus hand that held the roof so it wouldn't fell on us. We want to say thank you to God for everything. " When we see all these things, we know that Jesus is near, right at the door." Brothers and Sisters fear not Our Savior is coming. Today is Haiti, tomorrow will be another place but, let us rejoice in Christ Jesus.

Thank God for your Ministry, Pastor Doug and co. Yes, I believe it is not our place to judge. God has reserved that for himself. He who is without sin should cast the first stone. Our duty is to pray and support, this is what my family and I will do. God Bless.
Laverne Picart Wednesday, January 20, 2010 2:41 PM
To God be the Glory for inspiring this initiative but thank you for accepting the job. While the devil seeks to destroy lives in the short time he has left, God is working miracles amidst the disaster. When I see a pregnant woman, children and babies being rescued after many days without food and water I know it is God who has saved them. I am sad yet excited that Jesus is on his way and this world of sin and suffering will soon be no more.

Thank you Pst Doug. I'm so thankful for the inspiration God provides to us through your ministry. I do believe that God, and God alone can give you such inspiration. I was so troublesome by this catastrophe, even though my parents and my close relatives were saved amazingly by God. I was somewhat unable to show strength and share the suitable words to comfort the fellows in our congregation that lost family and relatives but this provision God did it in purpose and especially for me. God bless

Pastor Doug, Keep up the good work – Thanks for the reminder of the tower of Siloam (Luke 13:1-5). It may have fallen on 18 no more wicked than others. Jesus called us to self-examination, not to sort-out the weight of retribution others might be receiving. Let’s be messengers of truth and hope. God grant us a heart of sympathy as we share in a world hurting (Haiti). All evil will soon be ended, sin and Satan will be destroyed forever more. The suffering will come to an end, and tears will be re

I'm 1/2 Haitian and my dad does missionary work in Haiti. He booked his flight on January 8th, 2010 and left for Port-au-Prince on January 10th, 2010. His has a house in Leogane, Haiti which is 40 or so miles away from the capital. We spoke to my dad at 1pm on January 13th, 2010. Two days later we got a call from him stating that he and his house were ok. Today he is housing 60 individuals from the US helping the neighboring towns and taking the opportunity to preach the everlasting gospel.

My brothers and sisters in Christ don't fall in such blindness to think that this tragedy happened to the Haitians because they made a pact with the devil. We are all sinners the bible said. In your life right now this sin that you keep doing can be considered as your pact with the devil. It's the end of the days, don't let satan make us beleive that we are save because we rebuke the devil while in our hearts the true love and holy spirit of God has left us.Let Pray more cuz it's just started.

Pastor Doug, I appreciate your taking the time to write this and I thank you for always sharing the truth and making it plain. You are a true Christian soldier. Although materials being sent in French will be useful and appreciated, the majority of Haitians actually speak Kreyol and cannot read. Only a small minority get to attend school and learn to read and write in French.

I am in support of Amazing Facts.org in its methods of spreading the Gospel throughout the world. I particular want to thank Pastor Doug Batchelor for being dilligent in how he works in God's venyard. The Hattian earthquake has been a tremendous eye opener. For it has been the Mercy of God to spare the United States so far. Believe me its been His mercy and grace in action and nothing more. We (United States of America) has allowed everything that Satan has to offer to come into her belley.
Tekle Abose Sunday, February 07, 2010 1:05 PM
Yes Pastor Doug! We all are sinners. I agree with you no one can judge Haiti people saying, "the disaster is because of their sin" only God knows the reason behind it. "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not" we don't know who will be next. My God help us to stay awake spiritually.
