A Global Flood of Living Water

An Amazing Fact: Buried 1.2 miles beneath the sediment of the Atlantic Ocean, an ancient landscape with canyons cut by rivers and mountainous peaks has recently been discovered by geologists searching for oil.

Using echo-sounding technology, the search revealed a huge mass of land of 3,861 square miles west of the Orkney-Shetland Islands. In addition, core samples taken from its rock reveal pollen, coal, and other evidence of life normally found on a dry surface—indicating this area was once above sea level.

Some believe this region is the lost isle of Atlantis—but God’s people know it’s just one more confirmation for the worldwide flood recorded in Genesis.

A Global Flood of Living Water

These days the story of Noah is being mocked like never before by hostile skeptics. They are determined to destroy any confidence in God’s Word even as scientific evidence seems to mount daily supporting the Genesis testimony.

In fact, one prominent atheist in England wants to make teaching children the truth about the Flood a crime akin to child abuse! They know if this Genesis story is proven true, everything else in the Bible is true — including our accountability to God.

I still think Noah was one of the most extraordinary evangelists in history. Not because he had many converts, but because of his faithfulness to preach an unlikely, unpopular message in a violent, sinful age. I also believe the story because Jesus did. And the Lord has warned us we can expect similar conditions to Noah’s day as we near the end of time (Matthew 24:37).

A Different Kind of Flood
We know that when Christ comes again, the world will be immersed in a global conflagration (2 Peter 3:7–12). But before that event happens, Amazing Facts is working and praying for another kind of flood. A flood of Living Water and truth!

“The earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14).

God’s Spirit pouring from the heavens! It’s happening now!

Each year our team of evangelists runs to and fro all over the world holding more than 60 meetings to call the lost to the Lord.

Sometimes these meetings are humble efforts reaching a few new individuals; sometimes they are broadcast on television and fill thousands of seats. But whatever the case, dear souls respond to the truths of God’s Word and the message spreads!

The Philippines
For instance, Amazing Facts evangelist Lowell Hargreaves recently travelled across the ocean to the Philippines, where he delivered the gospel on satellite television with staggering results. In fact, not only did this event turn out to be a soul-winning odyssey, it literally saved lives … here’s a note from one attendee:

"I thank God for sending you here to our place. I was about to commit suicide when I heard that there was a Revelation seminar at the FTC Tower. It has changed my plans of killing myself, because God has changed my life."

As an evangelist myself, I know that public evangelism is always a battle with unseen demonic forces. Let me allow my friend Lowell to share one such example …

On a Monday night, I went to preach at a church that had been showing our seminar via satellite. The church members had been watching on a small television, so they were delighted to have me come and give them a personal message.

But the next night at midnight, a flashflood came through that area and demolished it. Water rose 30 feet in three hours, covering the church platform and ruining their PA system. … That night 30 people drowned and 13,000 families were affected, including most of those attending our satellite meetings. Some lost everything. One lost a child.

But here’s the good news—even in the midst of the tragedy, interest in Bible studies and spiritual things grew dramatically. Lowell continues…

Yet many decisions have been made for Christ, and many more are learning the truth either on television or the Internet.

Shaking Up Iran

Miracles in Ukraine
This year Amazing Facts conducted its third evangelistic program in Ukraine, and God blessed with nearly 150 new souls. One of them, Vera, is a 20-year-old young lady who grew up in the Orthodox Church but never fully committed her life to Christ. As she got older she turned to drinking, drugs, and promiscuity. Then someone gave her an invitation to attend our seminar with evangelist Wes Peppers. She decided that she would give God one final chance to show her that He was real. Coming night after night, tears flowed from her eyes as she saw the love of Jesus for her. As she was crossing the street one evening to come to the seminar, a distracted driver began charging right for her. With no time to react, Vera called out, “Jesus, help me!” As if stopped by a Divine hand, the car halted about an inch away from striking her. “I know Jesus answered my prayer.” Her heart was melted, and she gave her life to Jesus that very night and was soon baptized. “I am so thankful to Jesus for saving me from certain ruin and giving me the gift of eternal life. I now know that He is real and has a plan for me. I love Him with all my heart.”
