On and On and On …

A noted Christian preacher told the story of a vacation once gifted to him, a stay on one of the Hawaiian islands—complete with the most luxurious accommodations imaginable.
Food was copious, fresh, and appetizing. Towels appeared, it seemed, before being requested. And throughout the hotel, an army of employees stood by ready to open a door as he approached.
As he recalled it, he even wondered, “Is this heaven? It sure seems like it!” Life in our new earth, the paradise promised to the believer, will be far more grand than any resort. “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:9).
Perhaps the greatest feature, however, is the infinite nature of this new life. Vacations eventually come to an end, just as our more pedestrian holidays have a conclusion. After that time away, we re-enter the routines of daily life.
In tomorrow’s world, in the earth made new, there will be no need for “re-entry.” Everything will continue without end. Happiness will endure. Joy will be everlasting. And the redeemed will never grow old, never lose their vitality, and never die—“the voice of weeping shall no longer be heard in her” (Isaiah 65:19).
As we read in Scripture, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15). It will be a new world order, to borrow a phrase, but one of peace, plenty, and healing for all!
