Publishing Director

POSITION TITLE: Publishing Director
REPORTS TO: Executive VP

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED. Bachelors degree in business, marketing, sales, or management strongly desired. Ten years of proven marketing management experience. Significant five years or more experience managing, leading, and motivating successful teams.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Lead in the development of new products (product development)
- Coordinate with team leaders to ensure an efficient interdepartmental workflow
- Develop practical and profitable sales goals and implement strategies to meet them
- Develop effective marketing strategies and coordinate with other departments to market across various platforms (including database marketing, email, direct mail, catalog, and media marketing)
- Establish a successful business model which can be replicated and expanded
- Understand, identify, and meet the needs and demands of customers on a worldwide scale
- Manage projects and contracts with third-party marketing agencies and vendors
- Perform in-depth sales analysis
- Oversee purchasing and inventory of published and non-published products
- Responsible for publishing and marketing budget
- Implement quality control plans to ensure quality products
- Communicate with multiple vendors and compare product production costs to effectively reduce cost while maintaining quality materials
- Understand the flow of sales operations and be able to carry out any responsibilities within the department in order to more effectively organize said workflow
- A willingness to fill in wherever needed in order to keep up with the demand and flow of production
- Coordinate with Warehouse Supervisor to oversee effective shipping and inventory operation
- Manage and encourage a successful sales team with superior customer service
- Distribute work tasks as needed across the Publishing department
- Manage time cards, PTO, and scheduling of employees within Publishing
- Create an environment for growth and development of Publishing staff
- Work with Product Development and Marketing to identify and understand business objectives and meet revenue expectations
- Other duties as assigned
