An Amazing Fact: In January 2023, swindlers used artificial intelligence to clone a teen girl’s voice and then called her mom. The mother heard her daughter’s “voice” crying out for help—a man then came on the phone and demanded a ransom. However, after a few calls, the mother found out that her daughter was safe and that it had been a sophisticated and sinister scam!

Bob felt troubled inhis spirit. He was attending a Pentecostal church where members supposedly spokein “unknown tongues”—but it sounded like random gibberish.

 

Ithappens all the time. People start reading their Bibles and then listen to whata pastor is saying from the pulpit … and it doesn’t match. Many pray, like Bobdid, for God to lead them to the truth. Your gifts have played a key role in God’sanswers to their prayers!

 

Butmany seekers are still being ensnared by messages that sound close tothe truth but are counterfeits. That’s what makes Satan the ultimate scamartist. “The great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called theDevil and Satan, who deceives the whole world” (Revelation 12:9). That’swhy God wants us to use every good method possible to expose these falsehoods.

Glad to Receive Truth

AfterBob gave his heart to the Lord, he began reading his Bible and attendingservices at a Pentecostal church. While many of the things they taught madesense, in other areas, Bob’s heart simply didn’t feel right. I believe that wasthe Holy Spirit speaking to him through his Bible reading.

 

Satan’sfavorite style of deception is mixing truth with error. He has a counterfeitfor every doctrine of God, including one for the gift of tongues. Bob sharesthat “speaking in tongues was one of those things” at his church.

 

Overthe years, Bob heard even more discrepancies between his pastor’s sermons and theBible, so he began praying for the Lord to reveal the truth to him. That’s whenhe searched the web and found amazingfacts.org. He then watched our Millenniumof Prophecy evangelistic series. He says, “I watched them all in a coupleof days and was floored! This is exactly what I had been praying for.” Bobwas thrilled to hear the messages you and your gifts brought to him.

 

Butwhen he excitedly shared with a church friend what he learned about theSabbath, his friend became irritated. “To my shame,” Bob admits, “I put truthon the back burner.” For a year, he didn’t follow the new light he hadreceived. That’s a dangerous place to be! The Scriptures warn, “To him whoknows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin” (James4:17).

Oneevening, Bob returned to amazingfacts.org and watched those same evangelisticprograms that spoke to his heart a year earlier. This time, he looked up allthe texts I shared.
