Flares in the Night

An Amazing Fact:  Last January, a search and rescue team in Nanaimo, British Columbia, found a missing hiker in nearly blackout conditions. Total darkness had hampered their efforts … until military aircraft began dropping illumination flares—equal to 1.8 million candlepower—into the night sky. One squadron member described the flares as, simply, “really, really, really bright.

Did you know that millions upon millions of people send out distress signals for help every day? Every year, two trillion searches worldwide are made via Google alone. People are now looking to the internet first for answers to their questions about baking cakes, fixing cars—and, yes, finding God.

But you can guess who is lurking in the shadows, just waiting to provide search results that lead people down pathways made up of false hopes. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Proverbs 14:12).

Satan is always ready to set before us tempting web pages to turn our minds and hearts away from heaven. So, shouldn’t we do everything we can to launch rescue flares of light that guide people to Bible truth? That’s what you did for Nina …

Unwanted, Unloved

Nina was raised in one of China’s remotest places, but as a divorced single mother, she was ostracized by her culture. Even her father ridiculed her nonstop. “No eye pitied you; … you were thrown out into the open field, when you yourself were loathed on the day you were born” (Ezekiel 16:5).

Nina came to believe in God and even attended her mother’s Sunday-keeping church. She desperately wanted to be baptized too, but each time she asked, she was turned away. The members learned that Nina was a divorcee and believed that she would be a noxious stain upon their church. Soon she wasn’t welcome at all.

One day, as Nina’s father was screaming at her yet again, something in her broke. “You are as good as dead,” he ranted.

And she felt like she wanted to die. But something compelled her to go to the computer and get on the internet. In a Google search window, she typed the words “preaching by pastors.” Then, at the top of the hit list, she clicked a link to a video by an American pastor.

It was my message on Daniel 2 and Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of a giant statue, and it gave her goosebumps. She grabbed her Bible and followed along—it was her first Bible study on prophecy!

God used an internet search to lead Nina to truth on our Amazing Facts website. Every day, thousands of individuals find gospel truth in the same way!

Emergency Internet Evangelism

Did you know that the center of Jesus’ earthly ministry was Capernaum? Why? Because it was part of the main artery of Roman intercontinental trade. Christ liked to go where people were coming continually. So, where is the biggest highway in the world today?

The internet.

The internet has 1.86 billion websites, and more than five billion people use it daily. Internet access has spread to more than 60 percent of the globe, and it’s growing eight percent each year. Yet, while God has led this ministry to be one of the largest sources of Bible truth on the web, it’s actually getting harder for surfers to find us amid the wilderness of web pages that continue to multiply. How can we make God’s lifesaving truth more visible?

We must be strategic. We already implement sophisticated SEO (search engine optimization) practices, but we want to utilize another powerful way to elevate our many websites to the top of search engines: online billboards. Unlike the ones you pass on highways, our online billboards are able to guide internet seekers immediately and directly to a relevant answer on our Spirit-led websites. We want to flash Bible messages at the top of every results page, sending beacons of hope higher and brighter for all to see!

Jesus said, “If I am lifted up from the earth, [I] will draw all peoples to Myself” (John 12:32). Our internet team is now gearing up to run dynamic ad campaigns to draw even more seekers to Amazing Facts websites. Your gift today will help target seekers’ searches by their keywords—such as grief, Bible predictions, salvation, Bible study, heaven, rest, health, and many more—leading more people to eternal truth! For instance, when seekers type in “What happens when you die?” they’ll get a billboard ad leading them to one of our articles or videos … and the chance to meet the real Jesus!

A New Type of Evangelistic Campaign

Evangelism is our highest priority at Amazing Facts. We will never quit looking for and utilizing the most effective ways of sharing God’s last-day message with the world. I believe it’s time to strongly invest more in online advertising to point people to the three angels’ messages. Don’t you?

This month, I’m asking you to invest in an innovative form of outreach that leads people to the door of truth. We have prayerfully set a Goliath-sized goal of $500,000 for this special campaign to kick off 2022 evangelism.

You can be an internet evangelist and reach more people like Nina when you invest just $100, which could bring God’s truth to 770 hungry seekers. And a generous gift of $1,000 will place Amazing Facts ads before 7,750 souls surfing for waves of truth. But whether you send in $25 or $200, God will bless your support with countless seekers finding heaven-sent answers.

After Nina watched several Amazing Facts broadcasts online, the Holy Spirit led her to contact us to find a local Sabbath-keeping church. Today, she is not only a baptized believer, but she also leads a thriving home church. Thank you for sending out beams of light to guide another hurting soul into God’s loving arms!
