Calvin and Bonnie Complete Answers, Part 1
Read Time: 2 min

Bonnie grew up with an atheist father. She only remembers going to church once with her mother on Easter. About three years ago she and Calvin were attending a Baptist church. They were looking for answers to their Bible questions and were just not satisfied with “partial” answers that were not straight from the Scriptures.
One day Bonnie asked her neighbor friend, Evelyn, “Why do you go to church on Saturday?”
Evelyn simply replied, “Because it’s the Sabbath.”
Bonnie then asked, “Then why do you think I go to church on Sunday?” “Because it’s convenient,” Evelyn smiled. That’s where the conversation ended … for the time being.
Lloyd and Evelyn planned to go to California for the winter and Calvin and Bonnie agreed to look after their place while they were gone. Before leaving for California, Evelyn invited Bonnie over so she could show her where everything was located in case something came up.
As they walked past Evelyn’s bookcase, Bonnie noticed a whole row of old VHS tapes. Bonnie and Calvin had just quit receiving satellite TV the day before and felt it would be better just to watch videos and DVDs. So they were looking for interesting programs to view. When Bonnie saw the old VHS tapes, she asked Evelyn, “What are all these?”
Evelyn replied, “They are a series of programs about Bible prophecy called The Prophecy Code filmed in 2005.”
“Would you mind if we watched them while you’re gone?” Bonnie asked.
“Help yourself,” said Evelyn, and soon after, they left for California.
Calvin and Bonnie just couldn’t get enough of these Bible seminars and soon bought their own set (on DVD) from Amazing Facts. They received free booklet offers and later purchased the Prophecy Study Bible.
A couple months after first watching The Prophecy Code, Bonnie and Calvin made a decision that changed their lives.
Reflect: Has someone ever asked you about your religious beliefs? The Bible encourages us to be prepared to answer for our faith.
