Pastor Doug Preaches in Asia and Oceania
Pastor Doug Batchelor, president of Amazing Facts International, and his wife, Karen, recently returned from a five-week trip (August 10 to September 14, 2025) to Australia, Vanuatu, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The globe-trotting journey included revival meetings in Australia, a ten-day reaping series in Vanuatu, evangelism training for Chinese pastors in Malaysia, and speaking engagements in Indonesia.
God blessed abundantly! More than 2,400 people were baptized, hundreds received training in evangelism techniques, and countless others had their faith in Christ revived.
Revival in Australia
The trip kicked off with three days of revival meetings in Australia.
Though Pastor Doug was there only during the workweek, enthusiastic crowds filled churches in Wahroonga (near Sydney), Newcastle, and Brisbane to hear him speak on preparing for the end times.
“We didn’t know if anyone would come out midweek, but they did!” reports Pastor Doug. “Our programs have been on Australian national television for the past ten years now, so hundreds were ready to come and listen.”
“We met so many wonderful people,” he adds with a smile. “One young man told us he had been trapped in the things of the world but had been set free after he discovered the truth through Amazing Facts. Now he is studying to be a pastor. Another night, a 90-year-old man handed me a check that covered the costs for our flights for the entire trip. What a blessing!”
Over 2,000 Say “Yes to Jesus” in Vanuatu
From Australia, Pastor Doug and Karen flew to Port Vila, Vanuatu, where they were welcomed by government dignitaries and a police escort.
They were joined by Pastor Jëan Ross, vice president of evangelism, and members of the Amazing Facts media team to help host Vanuatu’s first-ever large-scale, multi-site evangelistic series. But they weren’t starting from scratch.
Local members had already been working hard to prepare for the harvest. For a year and a half, they had been planting seeds by ministering to their communities’ pressing needs and conducting Bible studies. They had also engaged in 100 days of intercessory prayer for the meetings.
“We’ve never seen an explosion of the gospel like this!”
“Yes to Jesus Vanuatu” began with two weeks of free, pop-up medical clinics hosted by 50 volunteer medical professionals from Australia. Local churches also held Revelation seminars at 206 sites across the nation’s 83 islands. Students from AFCOE Oceania preached at 19 of these locations. The local meetings were capped off with the ten-day Prophecy Encounter series with Pastor Doug.
As many as 3,000 people gathered in the football stadium in Port Vila each night to hear Pastor Doug preach. Over 4,000 came on the weekends. Thousands more watched across the nation via the 103 downlink sites, the internet, and radio. God blessed richly!
At the same time, the devil worked hard to stall the gospel work. Production equipment was stuck in customs. Technical problems threatened the broadcast. Electricity failed. Earthquakes rocked the islands. And rain fell frequently.
One night, heavy winds drove rain across the stage. Pastor Doug kept preaching, despite getting drenched. “I decided that as long as the screens kept working, and people were out there listening, I would keep preaching. God kept the screens operating the whole time. I thought we’d never be able to use the footage, but people ended up being impressed that we really did believe what we were teaching because we were willing to keep going in the pelting rain.”
The meetings concluded on a high note, with over 2,400 baptisms taking place across Vanuatu. It took more than five hours to baptize all the new believers in Port Vila alone. Among them were 19 prisoners, 89 students from a local school, at least five village chiefs, and an Apostolic church pastor and his family.
“We’ve never seen an explosion of the gospel like this in Vanuatu,” reports Pastor Charlie Jimmy, mission president.
Indonesia Re-Creation
Due to scheduling changes, the Batchelors ended up with a free week in the South Pacific. They decided to use the time for a short vacation in Raja Ampat at a scuba-diving resort owned by a fellow Sabbath-keeper. “It was the best scuba diving I’ve ever done!” said Pastor Doug.
They also had the opportunity to worship with the church in Yarweser. “It was the most primitive church I’ve ever been to,” says Pastor Doug, “but it was a beautiful time of fellowship with them.” The following Sabbath, Pastor Doug spoke at the church in Bali.
Evangelism Training in Malaysia

China’s strict religious laws make it challenging for churches to train their pastors and laypeople in effective outreach. But the Chinese can travel easily to Malaysia. A total of 350 pastors and lay leaders traveled to Kuala Lumpur to meet with Pastors Doug and Jëan. Pastor Jëan taught them about the evangelism cycle, and Pastor Doug explained the steps of salvation and how to lead seekers to Christ.
Many Chinese leaders reported that people were walking into their churches after discovering Bible truth through Amazing Facts’ online materials. Explains Pastor Doug, “They told me that our Final Events of Bible Prophecy and Cosmic Conflict programs have been widely published on Chinese video-sharing platforms and that many people are discovering the truth through them.”
“God blessed us in so many ways on this trip. It was wonderful to see so many people accepting the truth and giving their lives to God,” Pastor Doug adds. “I saw Him work on a more personal note too. We took 13 different flights and stayed in nine different hotels. I was praying that we wouldn’t get sick or lose our luggage. We never did. God is good!”
