A Perfect Record

Which NBA team has the best regular-season record of all time at 73–9? Which NBA team has had the most wins (regular-season and postseason combined) of 88–18? Which NBA team has had the most road wins in a regular season at 34? The best start (24–0)? The best road start (14–0)? Longest home winning streak (54)? The list could go on and on for the 2015–16 Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors’ 70th season of the franchise in the NBA (54th in the San Francisco Bay Area) was phenomenal. Golden State broke more than 25 NBA records and more than 10 franchise records that season—including most wins ever recorded in a season. The team’s regular season is considered to be one of the greatest in professional sports history.
Jesus played the riskiest game in history in a match against the devil, all in order to win the right to save humanity from eternal loss. Christ came to this Earth and lived a perfect life. He never once sinned, and his perfect record qualified Him to serve as our High Priest in heaven. By suffering humiliation, torture, and death, Jesus is now “seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary” (Hebrews 8:1, 2).
The winning streak of Jesus—perfectly following His Father’s will (John 8:29)—allows Him to intercede for us, for “He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25). Satan is still trying to point an accusing finger at God’s people, but the apostle Paul rightly responds, “Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us” (Romans 8:34).
