Genuine Faith

Daily Devotional Audio

You are shocked by your good fortune and think it might even be an answer to your prayers. You discover an incredible deal on a Rolex watch, a timepiece you’ve coveted for years. The online seller promises it is authentic—and for just $150, the luxurious watch can be yours. But there’s a catch: The watch is a counterfeit.

If you’re interested in a genuine Rolex watch, you can spot a fake by following some basic rules. First, look at the price. Most of these valuable timepieces start at $2,000. Next, consider the seller. Like purchasing a home, you should look at “location, location, location.” A swap meet or a side alley is not a good place to purchase an authentic Rolex. There are other, finer details you can spot on the watch itself if you know what you’re looking for.

When identifying God’s people at the end of time, the Bible says that they have “the faith of Jesus.” The Lord’s remnant people are characterized by a faith that is similar to that of Jesus. The Bible shows us that Christ had an unshakeable faith in “every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

The faith of Jesus was not a passive belief in God. It compelled Him to obey His Father’s will from a heart of love. “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). God’s remnant people will “keep the commandments” (Revelation 14:12) because of their faith in Jesus.

God’s last-day people will also have faith that Jesus came from heaven as the Savior of the world. Like the Samaritans who were moved by the testimony of the woman at the well, we too may say, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world” (John 4:42).

Jesus is the true and authentic Messiah from heaven. You can test Him and see for yourself!
