Glenda Sue From Tragedy to Triumph, Part 2
Read Time: 3 min

When two men accidentally dropped off Amazing Facts Bible Study Guides at Glenda Sue’s home, she eagerly read them and wanted to learn more. She eventually discovered AmazingFacts.org where she gladly found all the lessons online. She and her husband, Kirk, completed the web studies and then searched for a Sabbath-keeping church to visit.
Glenda Sue discovered both positive and negative statements about Sabbath-keepers on the web, but knew the Bible studies she completed spoke powerfully to her heart. She found two churches close by and when a friend mentioned that a post office worker attended one of them, that’s where they decided to attend.
The pastor and church members warmly welcomed Kirk and Glenda Sue. The pastor went through all the Amazing Facts lessons once more to make sure they understood everything and then baptized them together into their newfound faith. “We love our new church! It’s like a little bit of heaven just being there.”
The Sabbath truth so deeply impacted Glenda Sue’s heart that she felt impressed to go across the street from their home to witness to a retired Baptist pastor. After sharing literature with him, she prayed for him and then
he prayed for her. Obviously he felt she needed her eyes opened. She felt discouraged when she went back home, so she just rested in the arms of Jesus. Then a song came to her heart. “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.” Glenda Sue smiled, “Thank you, Jesus, for being by my side. I turn this situation over to you.”
Kirk and Glenda Sue later found the two men who initially dropped off those first few Amazing Facts lessons. “Our story is one they love to tell others,” she shares. “You never know who may be receptive. I did not even know that I needed them or how much they would impact my life. We have gone from tragedy to triumph because of these lessons.”
Even when God’s servants mistakenly leave Bible study guides at the wrong house, God can turn it into the right house for His glory!
Reflect: Did you ever witness God using a “mistake” or “accident” and making it an opportunity? Maybe some of these blunders were not errors after all!
