Jacob From Empty to Full
Read Time: 3 min

Jacob was at the end of the road.
From the time he was thirteen, drugs became Jacob’s life focus. After high school, with police strongly interested in his group of friends, he decided to leave his home town for the life of a vagabond. Hitch-hiking across the country, eating out of dumpsters, sleeping in the streets and in the woods; his heart’s desire was to find someplace where the grass was greener.
Years of searching left him empty. Years of drinking weren’t enough to chase away the hollowness inside of his heart. One day, Jacob stood at a literal crossroads, not knowing where to go or where to turn. He had given up on life and was hardly able to eat food anymore, with depression overwhelming his soul. It was at this time that a still small voice led him back to his home town where he was introduced to evidence for a worldwide flood.
His search for truth took him to the Bible, where he found the voice of God speaking to his soul. Having been taught that we had evolved and that life was meaningless, the revelation of the love of God and His existence led Jacob to surrender his life and plead to God for help in overcoming his deep depression. The Lord answered his prayers, and Jacob’s heart went from sorrow to a yearning to reach others with the joyful truth he had found.
Jacob began to share materials from Amazing Facts and other Christian resources. He began to keep the Sabbath and attend church. The Lord delivered him from depression, addiction, and led him to a life of ministry: giving Bible studies and distributing literature. As of the time of this publication, Jacob has the privilege of serving the publishing department at Amazing Facts.
Jacob says, “If it wasn’t for the material published by ministries like Amazing Facts, I would not be where I am today. My life has been completely changed by the Word of God, and I am happy in Jesus. I praise the Lord for the wonderful privilege to have brothers and sisters in Christ, and for the opportunity to work in His vineyard and reach others wandering in darkness like I was.”
Reflect: Have you ever felt like you had nowhere to turn? Do you long for a better world? Jesus has a new heaven and a new earth prepared for them that love Him.
