Justina Forever Changed, Part 1
Read Time: 2 min

Justina grew up as part of a flourishing Mennonite community in a beautiful Central American country. Her parents faithfully lived a simple, wholesome lifestyle with a deeply spiritual focus. She rode to school by horse and buggy, studied diligently, and married at a young age as was the custom of her community.
As a child, Justina began listening to a Christian radio station that her parents permitted in their home. Year after year, she listened and soaked up the Scripture truths she was hearing. Justina especially enjoyed her favorite program, which sometimes aired three times a day—Bible Answers Live.
Justina loved hearing simple and plain Bible truths about so many questions that had always troubled her. For instance, she’d wondered about what happened when someone died, and how a loving God would burn people forever in hell. But now she heard solid assurance from the Bible that cleared up her confusion and brought peace to her heart.
When she learned about the seventh-day Sabbath, she carefully searched the Bible herself and wondered why she and her family went to church on Sunday. She asked her father. He answered that they went on that day because Jesus was resurrected on Sunday—a standard answer that many first-day Christians are taught.
But Justina couldn’t find anywhere in the Bible that said the commandment to keep the Sabbath holy had now been changed to mean Sunday. So she asked her pastor the same question, and he told her he’d get back to her the next week. But he never did.
Justina went on listening to Bible Answers Live, growing more and more convicted in her heart.
When she was eighteen, Justina was able to access a computer. She soon found Amazing Facts online and the free gifts that could be downloaded. “This is great!” she rejoiced. Justina immersed herself in study. “I downloaded forty books from the free library!” she recalls. “I read them all.”
What she learned began to change her life forever.
Reflect: Is there a particular religious program or book that helped you discover truths that you never knew before? God promises to lead those who earnestly seek Him.
