Overcoming With Christ In China

Sharing the gospel truth in China has been a challenge for a long time, but newly enacted restrictions are making it even harder. The new rules specifically target foreign missionaries, making it illegal to:

• Interfere with or control Chinese religious groups
• Establish religious organizations
• Promote “religious extremism”
• Invite Chinese citizens to join a religion
• Produce or sell religious books
• Organize religious education and training¹

These restrictions mean that Amazing Facts must “be wise as serpents and harmless as doves” (Matthew 10:16) when sharing vital truths. And it makes the work that you are doing even more urgent. We do not know when the door to preach the truth in China will close completely, so we must work and pray now while we can!

Despite the challenges, God is continuing to work in wonderful ways in answer to your prayers. The government had shut down our WeChat social media account, our primary platform for following up with people who have expressed interest in the Bible. But praise God, our account is now unblocked!

We now have 12,148 Bible studying friends on WeChat—and many are choosing to become your friend for eternity! Our real-time online chat feature is also very popular. Thank you for being a part of answering Bible questions asked by 2,845 people this year!

That’s not all. Over the past four months, you helped translate new videos and articles into Chinese. You helped translate five more chapters of Pastor Doug’s book Who Do You Think You Are? God also used you to post 204 short videos online that were shared 468,885 times and received 73,768 comments from hungry truth-seekers. Thank you for helping make all these truth-filled materials available online on the Chinese Amazing Facts website.

God is bringing many Chinese to these timely, biblical resources. Over the past three months, 113,699 people found life-changing truth on our Chinese-language websites. Many came back multiple times. Currently, 4,646 seekers are enrolled in our online Bible school—and 1,196 have graduated to date.

There is no way of knowing all the answers to your prayers for our Chinese friends, but the reports we hear are encouraging. We are aware of nine people who have started observing the Sabbath over the past four months and ten who have begun attending church. Another nine souls asked to be connected with a local church, but sadly, there is no church in their area. Please pray for them to stay strong in their faith as they must stand alone.

The work in China is urgent! Please continue to pray for our team doing the delicate work of sharing end-time truth online. Pray that God will provide us with more full-time, qualified translators. You Helped Brother Hou Quit Drinking

At just 22 years of age, Brother Hou was finding adulthood to be a real challenge. He had a college degree, but without work experience, the only job he could find was at a gas station. Christianity, his professed faith, was challenging too. He couldn’t seem to live up to the standards of his faith.  

“I always failed when faced with different temptations,” he says, “especially when it came to the temptations of the flesh, such as drinking and watching dirty videos. I was powerless to resist. This made me deeply distressed, and I longed to find a way to overcome these temptations.”

Brother L., an Amazing Facts Bible worker you make possible, gave Hou a copy of the Amazing Health Facts magazine. He also suggested several videos and sermons: “How to Overcome the Flesh,” “The Secret to Overcoming Temptation,” “How to Get Rid of Sin,” “Is It Possible to Live a Sinless Life,” “Tips for Resisting Temptation,” and “The Power of a Positive NO!”

Hou gratefully watched these videos. Pastor Doug’s explanations showed him the path to victory. He hasn’t touched a drop of alcohol since the New Year. “This is a huge victory for me, and I am deeply grateful to the Qimiaozhenxiang [AF Chinese] website!” he says.

Now, Hou spends his free time studying the materials on our website. He takes careful notes so that he can review them later. He even lets us know if he finds grammatical errors so that we can improve them. “I am well aware that the path of learning is never-ending,” he says. “Therefore, I often go through my notes to review the old and learn the new. Thank all of you for your advice and guidance, which has given me the strength to overcome temptation and strengthen my faith.”

You Blessed Sister XiXi With Manna

Sister XiXi began her faith journey in Sunday school but soon began to yearn for more. That’s when God led her to the last-day truth you provide through the Amazing Facts Chinese website. “I had a deep desire for God’s Word,” XiXi explains. “I was hoping to gain more enlightenment and strength from it.”

Pastor Doug’s teachings immediately resonated with XiXi. “His words nourished my soul like manna, allowing me to appreciate the power and beauty of the truth deeply.”

She also installed the Amazing Facts Chinese app on her phone and immersed herself in it each day. “These precious teachings are like sweet ‘spiritual milk’ that nourishes my spiritual life,” XiXi says. “Since accepting Pastor Doug’s pastoral care, my spiritual life has grown rapidly. Every day is filled with new insights and strength. I understand that the power of truth is infinite, and I hope to pass this blessing to more people.”

XiXi was eager to share her growing faith with her boyfriend. “He didn’t know God, so to share this precious truth with him, I decided to take screenshots of every frame of Pastor Doug’s sermon videos and then splice them together to make a picture of ‘spiritual milk.’ Although this is time-consuming, the effect is remarkable. Through these pictures, my boyfriend gradually came to know God and began to accept the truth.”

XiXi adds, “These pictures not only helped him understand the truth more intuitively, but they also deepened the emotional bond between us. All that I did was driven by love. Although the process of creating ‘spiritual milk’ was laborious, I enjoyed it. It took several hours to create screenshots for each video, as an hour-long video contains hundreds of images. However, seeing my boyfriend gradually grow in truth—I think it is all worth it!”

Thanks to your faithfulness, XiXi and her boyfriend are now attending a Sabbath-keeping church in southern China.
