AFCOE Online Tops 500 Students in First Weeks

Amazing Disciples, Amazing Facts’ first-ever online outreach training program, has drawn nearly 550 student enrollments in its opening weeks—and with it, the prospect of a new corps of soul-winning enthusiasts witnessing for Christ around the globe.

The online program marks a significant, globally accessible expansion of the ministry’s Amazing Facts Center of Evangelism (AFCOE), which has already trained thousands of students through in-person classes at the ministry’s headquarters in Sacramento, California. Now, those interested in church, group, and individual witnessing who cannot make the trip are able to experience a significant slice of the comprehensive AFCOE program—and even more courses are planned for the future.

Pastor Doug Batchelor says, “The last words of Jesus should be the first priority for believers. He said, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations,’ and AFCOE Online aims to create more amazing disciples to carry out Jesus’ great commission.”

The 13-week course is designed for students to complete on their own schedule, using a home computer, laptop, tablet, or even a smartphone. Interactive video lessons are supplemented with daily reading assignments, quizzes, and more.

A wide variety of evangelism-related topics are covered in the course—including understanding the divine commission to make disciples; the need to follow Christ’s method alone; and the basics of friendship evangelism and giving personal Bible studies. Students will also learn how to answer common objections, gain decisions, and nurture new believers. There’s also a segment on bringing inactive church members back to full participation.

During the initial run, students seeking additional guidance also have access to question-and-answer sessions with an Amazing Facts evangelist via a private group on Facebook and even exclusive live video sessions with Pastor Doug Batchelor.

Students who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate documenting their achievement. Those currently enrolled and who finish within the 13-week timeframe will qualify for an online graduation ceremony hosted by Pastor Doug and other ministry leaders.

Of course, the goal of AFCOE Online isn’t only to walk students through a course of instruction or to hand out certificates. The program’s aim is to help individuals become better soul winners in their churches, communities, and beyond. As Amazing Facts evangelist and AFCOE course guide Daniel Hudgens says, “There is nothing like being a disciple—experiencing that walk with Jesus—and seeing others come to Jesus.”

Finally, Pastor Doug says, “We have taken AFCOE out to people where they are. This is a highly accessible program for anyone interested in studying the Bible and becoming an Amazing Disciple for Jesus in these last days.”
