Earnestly Praying for Peace and Justice in Our Country

Amazing Facts International joins with other Christians around the country in praying for peace and justice to prevail during this tumultuous time.

There is no place in the life of a genuine Christian for racism and bigotry. “Abram said to Lot, ‘Please let there be no strife between you and me, … for we are brethren’” (Genesis 13:8). On Mars Hill in Athens, the apostle Paul declared of God, “He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth” (Acts 17:26).

Our hearts go out to all of the individuals and families, such as that of George Floyd, who have experienced prejudicial treatment and violence.

And now, of all times, the emotional fallout from this most recent tragedy is being compounded in a country, and a world, that is in the midst of a global pandemic, economic earthquake, and a population stressed because of continuing isolation.

This is a time for all Christians to sincerely humble ourselves and pray for our land, for all who are suffering, and to model the character of their Savior by being peacemakers in their communities (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Let’s also remember these words of Paul: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21). May this be our goal and our continual prayer!
