Amazing Facts’ Sanctuary Event Inspires Thousands

From April 2 to 4, Bible students gathered at the Amazing Facts International W.O.R.D. campus in Granite Bay, California, for inspiring and thought-provoking teaching on the relationship between the ancient Jewish sanctuary and God’s plan of salvation—and what it all means for Christians living in today’s turbulent world.

Amazing Sanctuary: A Most Holy Place Experience brought together speakers from Amazing Facts, Weimar Institute, and Secrets Unsealed to explain the meaning of an ancient temple that’s been long forgotten in Christian theology—but one that still has powerful secrets to reveal, not only about the future, but also as Jesus’ saving role as the Lamb of God. Appropriately, the seminar was held on the weekend that the Christian world noted the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

Pastor Doug Batchelor, president of Amazing Facts International and an event speaker, said that the Amazing Sanctuary series was designed to be “a fascinating study of God’s tabernacle, a journey that spans from Genesis to Revelation, yet one that few Christians in the world today have ever undertaken. Apart from my own presentations, I was equally thrilled to see how our speakers highlighted a new aspect of this beautiful structure, which was created by God to help us understand the plan of salvation.”

Other speakers for the event included: Pastor Jëan Ross, vice president for evangelism; Pastor Carlos Muñoz, director of the Amazing Facts Center of Evangelism; Daniel Hudgens, Amazing Facts evangelist; Pastors Stephen Bohr and James Rafferty from Secrets Unsealed; and Weimar Institute campus chaplain Don Mackintosh.

Along with the live presentations at Granite Bay Hilltop Seventh-day Adventist Church, tens of thousands viewed the programs via livestream on Facebook, YouTube, and Vimeo during the three days. The stage was decorated with replicas of an altar from the sanctuary, as well as the table of showbread and a candelabra. Projected on a video screen behind the speakers was an image of the ark of the covenant, which was located in the most holy place of the sanctuary. Ryan Hoover, an Amazing Facts missionary, took advantage of his beard and dressed in the traditional garments of the high priest, which added to the tangible experience of the event.

Pastor Doug also added, “This event felt like a grand opening of sorts for the W.O.R.D. Center,” noting that the 2020 pandemic and resulting closings have made it difficult to use the facility that was expressly built for providing similar high-quality and high-demand programs. “While supporting the mission of God’s last-day church, I believe this program, and others we have planned, will reach Christians from all backgrounds and be a powerful evangelistic resource for years to come.”

The event also marked the launch of Amazing Sanctuary: Preparation for the Most Holy Place Experience, a 13-week Bible lesson book designed for church Bible schools, small groups, and individuals to better understand God’s Word. The book is available to order at afbookstore.com.

The team at Amazing Facts International would like to take a moment to thank our supporters, who not only made the Amazing Sanctuary: A Most Holy Place Experience event possible, but who also sacrificed to build the W.O.R.D. Center, a multimedia office, worship, and training complex that will be used to create and broadcast similar programs for years to come, all in an effort to build up God’s eternal kingdom with steadfast people of faith. Explains Pastor Doug, “I’m grateful to our Lord, through whom all things are possible, for His providence and grace, and to the prayerful support of our many friends, for helping to build this center of evangelism so that His message can go further than it has ever before.”
