Echoes of Revelation

Echoes of Revelation
Planet Earth seems to be in a tailspin. Tragedies are reported almost every day, and thousands are dying all around us. The Bible predicted these events, reveals why they are happening, and describes how they will soon give way to eternal peace and joy. In our world around us, we hear echoes of Revelation …

When a fuel truck blew a tire in Pakistan, local villagers crowded around to collect the leaking fuel. A passerby lit a cigarette, causing an explosion of nearly 5,000 gallons of fuel—and killing at least 150 people. When tragedy strikes, we ask, “Where was God?” “Why does He allow so much suffering?” Maybe we are looking at the wrong person. Revelation 12:12 warns, “Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” Learn more about this enemy by clicking here.

A crying baby saved his parents from a tragic landslide in rural China, which killed nearly a hundred people. Revelation tells of a Child who was born and in the midst of a deadly conflict but who would bring hope and salvation to millions. “The dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born” (Revelation 12:4). “She will bring forth a Son, and you shall call his name Jesus: for he will save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). Learn more by clicking here.

Fire Controlman 1st class Gary Rehm gave the ultimate sacrifice on the naval destroyer USS Fitzgerald. After saving nearly twenty of his fellow sailors, he became trapped when the watertight hatches had to be closed to keep the ship from sinking. In earth’s final conflict, Revelation identifies a group of people willing to give their lives for the honor of the Creator. In the war against the dragon, “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” (Revelation 12:11). Who are these people? Find out more here.

Across the country of Yemen, thousands have been stricken with the deadly cholera. What do these people need? The cure is simple—clean drinking water and proper sanitation. But war has destroyed the infrastructure that could have prevented this disaster. The final invitation in the Bible offers life-giving spiritual water. “Let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely” (Revelation 22:17). Find out how this gift can save your life here.
